About the Team

The Northern Virginia Soccer Club (NVSC) Junior Majestics '98 are a U9 girls travel team coached by Dana Bowie. Dana coaches the team with an emphasis on developing a complete player. Players are encouraged to develop an appreciation for all positions and are rotated throughout the season to develop their awareness of how each position is a unique but absolutely essential part of an entire team as well as to assist them in developing the critical ability to quickly make good decisions on the field. They are also required to bring to the field the values that Dana finds most important -- leadership, determination, common sense, a team-first mentality, and a willingness to train hard on and off the field.

Although the team spends considerable time in social activities off the field, including stints as ball girls for Majestic games, player parties, trips to DC United and the like, they are not a social club. They are a group of individually-talented young ladies that have joined together to play competitive soccer, supported in their pursuit by dedicated families, who together with Dana, bring a focus on training hard now in order to win future tournaments together.
